- I'm 24, living in upstate NY and baseball is pretty much my life(along with teaching kids). Many ask about the name of the blog-I enjoyed watching Leiter pitch back in the day. Also, the knowledge he has about the game of baseball is quite vast which is why he brings a lot to the booth in broadcasting. I love hearing stories about the game of baseball, especially from those who were able to witness so many fascinating things back in the day. I love going to Tampa for ST; its been a yearly tradition since 2004. I may be a loser and go to major league and minor league games by myself, but I am content with that and have a ball talking with fans from all over! Horrible call. I think the worst call I ever saw was like 07 Yankees vs Seattle at YS. Cano had some guy out by literally like 3 feet and the ump called the guy safe.
Some of these umps are just terrible. Majority of umps are make many good calls and some plays are going to be messed up occasionally when it's a really close play, but that's not the case with last night's play.
The ump shouldn't be having problems with a play right in front of him when the guy is clearly safe.
Oh and btw finish your presentation!

Yeah summer classes are awful. I had them my soph and junior years at college. Not fun.

I seen over 3 decades of baseball and guess what? This is the worst umpiring I've ever seen. Absolutely, dreadful, there should be instant replay at home plate!I'm very dissapointed with these vision impaired umpires.......

I tried googling the average major league baseball umpire salary but couldn't find it. I like the NFL refs were it is just a weekend job for them and they all have real jobs during the week.
The best umpire I ever saw was Leslie Nielsen in the Naked Gun movie.
I feel like I have to tell you to finish your presentation.
Anyway, I think we all know where to find two umpires who can step in at a moments notice. They've got the uniforms, they seem like douchebags, and I'm sure they can do just as brutal a job.

They were at one of the recent Jays games, but the broadcast crew made sure to not get them into any shots. Everyone's sick of those fools.

CHristina, heard a rumor that the Boston are thinking about getting Holliday! YEs, Matt the Rockie Holliday. Their golden boy Jason Bay went into a slump amd offensively they are weak, so Holliday might help.
