...is of course Al Leiter! While my bias may show in my trivia questions, I just found it interesting to post as it was something I wasn't aware of myself and found it intriguing that it had been over 4 years since the Yankees defeated the Angels in the playoffs. And the fact it was AL Leiter who was the last to receive the win made it even more fun-filled. Thanks to Lauren for the link: http://snipurl.com/si76a
Regardless, the stat will obviously now change with the Yankees playing the Angels on Friday. There is a great video online in which Al and Harold Reynolds discussed the infamous cutter that Mariano has developed and improved on over the years. I really suggest that you guys check it out as it really is informative; especially if you are interested in the mechanics of pitching.
The difference between the fastball and cutter (If you click on the pictures, you cna look at a larger view of this shot). They both look the same as the delivery starts, but it is the movement as the pitch arrives which makes it such a difficult pitch to hit.
Those are screenshots from the video I linked to. What do you think of my skills using paint? Ah, technology

Happy Birthday Christina!
awww thank you! I feel oldddd though!
23 now? Omg you are so ...old! Not. OMG, I must be positively ancient if you're old. Happy Birthday. Thank you for being a wonderful hostess BTW.
Christina , another strange tidbit. alois is a famous name of the father of one of the world's most insane and reviled figures of all time. I'm very surprised that his parents named him Alois.
Thanks Bruno :)
As for Alois, who would that be?
Happy Birthday!
Great post also. Very informative and interesting.
Hitler's father! I'm so surprised that his mum(from Liverpool) and his Czech dad would have known that...strange.
Christina,
Game 1 of the ALCS is tonight! Update your blog!
So Christina, no updates since Wednesday. Any thoughts on Game 1? Game 2 preview?
