World Series Tickets

The Yankees announced a few days ago that tickets for the 2009 World Series were to go on sale Wednesday at 10am. I figured I would try my luck to see what was available, with the expectations that there probably wouldn't be many left to the public. After distributing the tickets to players, MLB, season ticket holders, and the media, there really aren't many tickets even left for the regular folks.

At 9:59 pm I tried getting tickets and was surprised to see the Ticketmaster thing loaded. After it the page said to wait about 2 minutes, the page loaded displaying that there were no available seats. I had two browsers opened (explorer and FireFox) so I was able to try for two different world series games,. Both were a failure when selecting 1 ticket for best available, the with time wait in between each search get longer and longer.

In the end, I had no such luck. If signing on at 9:59 looking for 1 tickets didn't yield in any results, I cant imagine there were more than 50 tickets per game left to the public. I really would be interested to see how many tickets were out there for people to buy....

I like how they are selling WS tickets. It's like when the Red sox had the World series logo painted in Fenway before the end of the ALCS of 2003. Nice job, Yankees INc aka Levine,Trost and those idiots in the front office. It would be amusing if the Angels force a game 7,though. I think the Angels can win one at home and then let's see how Pettitte pitches at home(he pitches not too well against the LAAS).

This is an article very relevant to your topic about how many tickets were released.

I also was on right away and couldn't get tickets. I even had the presale as I'm a partial plan holder. This was the 1st time I couldn't get WS tickets in the presale. Of course the other times I had tickets, they didn't make the WS.

A tip of advice is that there's usually tickets released in the last 48 hours prior to a game. Tickets are held back for people, companies, families, etc and sometimes not all those tickets are used.

I know how you feel on this. I did the same thing, same result(obviously). I've been to almost everything, except for a playoff game, so you can imagine I'm pretty bummed...I could only afford tickets if I could manage to get lucky and get them off Yankees.com.

Stub hub prices rise to high.
